NEON: 92,335 energy-related disputes handled in 2015

Members of NEON handled together 92,335 energy-related disputes in 2015, 27.43% more than the previous year, announced today Lewis Shand Smith, President of the National Energy Ombudsmen Network, during a policy session on New Market, New Consumers, New Challenges organised in the framework of the European Sustainable Energy Week 2016.

Innovative DSOs are needed in a Decentralised Energy System

Today, the four Brussels-based associations representing DSOs (CEDEC, EDSO for Smart Grids, EURELECTRIC and GEODE) highlighted that investment in smart grid technology will allow DSOs to become central platforms for the energy transition by connecting responsive consumers, renewables and flexibility sources. To encourage the development of innovative DSOs, the four trade associations reaffirmed the importance of a sound remuneration framework, better economic regulation and an adequate return on invested capital. Clock is ticking in negotiation on EU-US data transfers
